North Carolina is a state located on the Atlantic Seaboard in the south eastern region of the United States of America. North Carolina is bordered by South Carolina on the south, Georgia on the southwest, Tennessee on the west, Virginia on the north, and the Atlantic Ocean on the east.

Due to its wide range of elevation, from sea level on the coast to almost 6,700 feet (2,042 m) in the mountains, North Carolina has the most variation in climate of all the south eastern states.
The climate of the state ranges from a warm, humid subtropical climate near the coast to a humid continental climate in the mountains. Most of the state falls in the humid subtropical zone.
Capital of North Carolina is Raleigh, with an estimated population of 359,332 (2007) and  largest city is Charlotte. It has a population of approximately 630,478 (2006).
North Carolina’s scenery, history and people will steal your heart away. From lowlands of coastal areas, to the High Country mountain area, North Carolina presents a great chance for a memorable vacation with the kids.
The Mountains region of North Carolina includes the High Country and Asheville. It is a true resort area, with an overwhelming amount of grand nature and year-round activities. In the winter, they ride the slopes on skis, tubes or snowboards. The sunny North Carolina’s Coast is famous for it’s pristine beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, it’s giant sand dunes, the barrier islands also called the Outer Banks, it’s fishing villages and it’s lighthouses. The Outer Banks is a chain of barrier islands surrounded by 900 square miles of blue Atlantic water and warmed by the Gulf Stream.
