On vacation with kids to: California, USA.

The State of California, also called ‘The Golden State’, is located on the Pacific coast of North America and it is bordered by Oregon to the north, bordered by Nevada to the east, bordered by Arizona to the southeast and bordered by Mexico to the south.

California is the third largest state in the U.S. and is known for its diverse geography, diverse climate and ethnically diverse population. California's population has reached 37,700,000 (year 2007), making it the most populated state of the US.
California’s diverse geography ranges from sandy and rocky beaches of the Pacific coast, to the rugged snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains in the east, to the forests in the northwest and the desert areas in the southeast. California is also home to the hottest place in the Western Hemisphere, Death Valley.
The state's largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco and the state capital is Sacramento. The largest city is Los Angeles with an estimated population of  3,849,378 (2006).
Along the California coast are several major metropolitan areas, including Greater Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and San Diego.
Much of California has a Mediterranean climate, with cool, rainy winters and dry summers. Further inland, the climate has colder winters and hotter summers. Climate does vary greatly based on distance from the ocean and elevation.
Beaches, Theme Parks, National Parks, Historic Sites and  Natural Beauty are just some of the  reasons California is the sixth most-visited destination in the world.
From the mountains, to the desert, to the Pacific coast, California is a great West Coast state and a very popular destination for your vacation with the kids.
